Former Stoke City trainee Laurence Wootton scored twice for Cardiff City’s development team in their convincing win against Plymouth Parkway at Bolitho Park.
The young Bluebirds completed their three-match pre-season tour to Devon and Cornwall with a 100 per cent record, having scored 15 goals and conceded three.
City defeated AFC Tavistock 7-0 and Bodmin Town 3-2 before playing Parkway.
Lee Tomlin, Jacob Evans and Dan Williams were the other Cardiff scorers.
Head coach Andy Legg’s under-23 squad plus over-age additions Alex Smithies, Tomlin and Gary Madine faced a physical test against Western League Premier club Plymouth Parkway.
City led 4-1 at half-time and retained control in front of 152 spectators.
Wootton headed Cardiff’s first goal after seven minutes, while Parkway equalised soon after when Billy Palfrey firing home on the half volley.
Tomlin went close when he went for goal after good work by Madine, but his shot curled just wide.
City regained the lead after 24 minutes when Madine’s shot was parried and Wootton tucked away the rebound.
Evans made it 3-1 two minutes later when, after good work by Madine, he chested the ball down and volleyed into the bottom right corner from the edge of the penalty area.
Tomlin added a fourth, firing home on 35 minutes after Shamar Moore set up the chance.
Parkway goalkeeper Kyle Moore saved from a Sion Spence free-kick before substitute Dan Williams added Cardiff’s fifth goal from a William Warnock cross.
