Neil Etheridge

A clean sheet at Old Trafford. Cardiff’s player of the season, a shot-stopping star. Was hardly overworked at Old Trafford 7

Lee Peltier

Has emerged as highly competitive Premier right-back. Given an assignment to nullify the threat of Martial during the second half and did his job 7

Sean Morrison (capt)

Will be leading the Bluebirds out again next season when they attempt to bounce straight back after relegation. A calm leader who was a steadying influence at the back 7

Bruno Manga

Has looked comfortable at Premier level. Top quality at Championship level and he’ll be a major assett in 2019-20. Must play at centre-back and not right-back 7

Joe Bennett

Extremely good season. Good in possession, solid in defence and consistent performer 7

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing

Scored from a 23rd minute penalty after being brought down – and added a second soon after the break. Pace, power and direct running. Only the second player from a newly promoted team to score twice away at Old Trafford in the Premier League since Louis Saha 18 years ago 8

Aron Gunnarsson

A final Bluebirds appearance for Gunnar, who operated in midfield and partnered Bacuna in front of the back four. They did an excellent job – and gave City’s front four a chance to shine. Gunnar just has to have a top rating 8

Leandro Bacuna

Called in with Ralls and Camarasa out injured. Useful competitor, operating in front of the back four 7

Josh Murphy

Cool and composed when he set up City’s second goal for Mendez-Laing. There is a lot to be excited about with City’s front four – Murphy, Zohore, Decordova-Reid and Mendez-Laing. His most completed performance, in attack and defensively, this season. Loads of quality for the Championship 7

Bobby Decordova-Reid

It could well be Bobby and Kenneth up front for City next season. Both have all the qualities needed to offer a major threat as a partnership. Had a glorious chance when he burst clear only to shoot just wide 7

Man of the Match – Kenneth Zohore

Will be a major player in the Championship if he can maintain the form he showed at Old Trafford. Big, strong, powerful and showed signs of bullying defender Phil Jones. Why hasn’t big Ken achieved this level all season? 8
