Another polished performance. Made a superb one-handed save from Salah and could do nothing about either goal 7

Lee Peltier

Arguably Cardiff’s most consistent defender over the second half of this season. Brilliant defensive work when Salah broke quickly on the counter-attack, cutting out the danger 7

Sean Morrison (capt)

Glorious chance during the second half when a Ralls corner picked out an unmarked Morrison at the far post. It looked a certain headed goal from three yards, but desperate goalkeeper Alisson stretched, just got a fingertip to the ball and it flew off the captain’s head to safety 7

Bruno Manga

Polished performance. Manga’s timing and composure were big factors during a first half in which Cardiff matched Liverpool. Defended superbly, several excellent tackles on Salah 8

Joe Bennett

Worked well with Manga to quell the threat from Salah and they did a good job. Also worked well with Mendez-Laing ahead of him 7

Joe Ralls

The non-stop midfield man could have played his last game this season. Ralls pulled up sharply after making a run to get back and cover, dropping to the pitch holding his upper leg. The problem is surely a hamstring pull and he is unlikely to recover in time to play again 7

Aron Gunnarsson

He looks physically battered, but there is no stopping the Icelandic warrior. His leadership skills and experience are crucial factors in midfield. Breaks up so many opposing attacks 7

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing

Man of the match. Playing consistently well and gave Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnol a torrid time. There were several great moments from the City winger, whose pace had the visitors struggling 8

Victor Camarasa

An abundance of skill, quality first touch and awareness. He has grown into his first Premier season. A playmaker with a lot of talent – and he is going to play a major role at Fulham next weekend 8

Oumar Niasse

Took a fair big of punishment from Liverpool defenders. Willing worker, supported by Victor Camarasa a the most advanced midfield player. Replaced by Zohore just after the hour 7

Junior Hoilett

The winger had a clear sight of goal during the first half following a Mendez-Laing cross. Hoilett opted to chest the far post delivery down instead of heading first time and that proved the wrong decision. Liverpool defenders were back in number by the time he was able to shoot 8
