Neil Etheridge

Beaten five times and didn’t deserve that. He was let down by players in front of him. A tough night for a goalie who has been Cardiff’s most consistent player this season

Bruno Manga

Has the quality and composure to be a Premier hit, but he showed another side in this match. His mistake led to Deulofeu’s first goal. Manga is far better than this 4

Sean Morrison (capt)

Was he recalled too soon? A key defender who has been out following an appendicitis operation. A competitor, a leader, but this was not the real Morrison 5

Sol Bamba

Who the heck was in Sol’s shirt? It looked like Bamba, but he didn’t play like Bamba. Scored a goal, but way below usual standards 4

Joe Bennett

When Bennett is good he’s spot on, cool and composed. Will Hughes gave the left-back a terrible time 4

Leando Bacuna

Started on the right of defence, moved into midfield and didn’t ever look certain where he was supposed to be playing 4

Harry Arter

We’re used to seeing Arter scrap, battle and give the opposition a terrible time. He risks booking through his total commitment to the cause – and a few rash challenges! This was low key Arter 4

Joe Ralls

Rallsy has looked a player growing into his Premier League role, but this was a match too far. Simply didn’t get into it 4

Man of the match – Josh Murphy

That’s if anybody deserved it. At least he posed a threat to Watford at times. I was surprised to see Decordova-Reid left out, but Murphy had a go and looked dangerous. Should have had a penalty 6

Callum Paterson

Worked hard, but there was no joy for the Scot. Worked at his game 6

Oumar Niasse

The guy needs support. Left far too isolated. Replaced by Zohore with 20 minutes left 6

Kenneth Zohore 5

for Niasse 70

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing

Ralls 66

Junior Hoilett

for Murphy 56)
