Alex Smithies

Bluebirds debut. Won’t be at all happy to have conceded three goals, but he could do little to deny Norwich City. Had a couple of scary moments, but, like so many in this team, badly needed the game time 6

Lee Peltier

Stayed close to Cantwell, almost a man-to-man marking job. A full-back who is powerful, strong and loves to get forward 6

Matthew Connolly

The experienced defender hasn’t played this season until now he took time to settle. He grew into the game on a night when the Bluebirds overall were second best 5

Bruno Manga (capt)

Far more effective when he plays at the heart of defence. I simply don’t like seeing him at full-back. Given the captain’s armband and scored a well taken goal 7

Jazz Richards

Did a decent job out of position on the right flank. Replaced by Callum Paterson, who played in the middle, just behind fellow substitute Ward in attack 5

Greg Cunningham

Bluebirds debut. Asked to do a man marking job in central defence on Argentine attacking midfield player Emiliano Buendia. Switched to central midfield when Zohore went on for Camarasa 5

Víctor Camarasa

The Spanish midfield player is growing on me. Looks a quality footballer at times and will improve as he adapts to British football. Surprised when Camarasa was taken off just before the hour 6

Loic Damour

Had moments when he looked dangerous through midfield and broke up attacks. He has the potential to shine, but Arter and Camarasa will surely start against Arsenal 6

Kadeem Harris

Can cause real problems with his pace and direct running, but didn’t see enough of the ball. Moved from left to right after Paterson and Ward were sent on after 58 minutes 6

Gary Madine

Powerful striker who puts himself about, wins aerial duels and caused problems for defenders. Replaced by Danny Ward just before the hour, but put in a decent shift 6

Bobby Decordova-Reid

Enjoys playing behind a main striker, playing a little deeper, picking up bits and pieces. Reid has genuine potential and clearly was fired up to do well. Moved left in the second half and, unfortunately, conceded possession before Norwich added their second 5

Man of the Match: Danny Ward

Went on from the bench and was the player who showed he is worth a chance against Arsenal at Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday. He has gone on as a substitute three times this season and improved the team every time. The guy deserves a chance 7
