We’re back in the big time and one of the perks of that is Fantasy Premier League football. It’s a chance to pit yourself against football fans all over the world and become the ultimate (fantasy) Premier League manager.
One of the most exciting parts as a City fan of FPL is sticking your favourite City players in your side. What’s better than pairing Sol Bamba with Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of your defence? How about a strikeforce of Kenneth Zohore and Harry Kane? It’s the stuff dreams are made of.
Whilst it’s easy to let fantasy take over, you’re in it to win it. You want to show your mates why you’re number one, why you’re the ultimate football expert. That’s why we’ve put together a list of the Cardiff City players to include in your FPL side.

There may be more glamorous full-back options in the league, but Joe Bennett offers you a solid option in defence. At just £4.5million, he leaves plenty of budget for the star defenders to accompany him in your back line.
Bennett is also a mean crosser of the ball and will no doubt be under instruction to get the ball into the box as often as he can. He’ll probably pick up a few assists throughout the season, as well as clean sheets if Warnock’s side can continue last year’s good defensive record.
It was a tight call between Morrison and his defensive partner Sol Bamba, but the skipper gets the nod as he scored more goals last season. ‘Mozza’ formed a fantastic partnership with Big Sol last season and will no doubt do the same again this year.
Morrison got seven goals last season (including those two goals against Hull, remember) and will be a major threat from set pieces this year.
Joe Ralls isn’t a name that will jump out at many Fantasy football managers, but he is an astute acquisition to your side. Ralls is Cardiff’s set-piece maestro and will be dangerous in terms of goals and assists.
With seven goals last year and Cardiff’s designated penalty taker, Ralls is a given to rack-up some steady points.
Scotsman Paterson is a major hit among the Bluebird fans, both for his antics on and off the field. A full-back converted into an attacking midfielder by Warnock, Paterson was a revelation last year.
With 10 goals, he was City’s top goalscorer last year and will hopefully get a few this year. He has a fantastic habit of arriving late in the box to fire home and is also a danger in the air.
The latest addition from Bristol City remains a bit of an unknown for City fans. Until last season, he was a bit-part winger at Bristol City, but his conversion to a forward gave him a new lease of life, scoring 19 goals in the Championship last season.
Reid impressed many in pre-season, including City boss Neil Warnock, and at £5million is a good wildcard option to accompany higher profile strikers.
